Summer Week 6 - The Practical Tree Hugger
Led by Susanne Kelly
Join us for a week of family fun, where we will explore ways in which every one of us can live a more eco-friendly life. We will build a bug hotel, there will be pond dipping, a bug hunt, “Junk Olympics”, and build and launch our own water rockets. There will be a craft corner, with plenty of junk materials to upcycle throughout the week, on a theme of “Fashion”. Bring old clothes for altering or Swishing, culminating in a fashion show on Friday evening.
Optional lectures will include talks on Food, Water, Waste, Energy and Transport. There will also be workshops and discussion groups throughout the week. Othona Bradwell is off grid and produces up to 75% of its electricity by wind and sun. What better place to spend a week of informative Tree Hugging fun?
Susanne Kelly is an Architect with a keen interest in sustainability and permaculture. She and her family live in a very ordinary semi-detached house on a very ordinary estate, where she tries to create a Forest Garden against the backdrop of her husband Jenne’s ever growing collection of unprocessed firewood.
