There IS "something about a river" ... and this is what we will be exploring ...
A week exploring the source of water and formation of rivers. Looking at the artistic and religious meaning of water sources in stories, objects of art and music. We will look at the flow of water and the sound of water. There will be workshops for children and adults.
Piet Van Veldhuizen, a Dutch reformed church minister and biblical scholar, will share his views on water symbolism in the Bible. His PhD thesis was on ‘encounters of lovers at wells’ in Bible and folklore. So, love is in the air – but what’s hiding in the water?
Angenita Hardy-Teekens, a free lance artist and art teacher, will be leading the artistic side of the week. Workshops wil be for all ages some on the beach using sand and mud. So you will get mucky...
