Easter No Space Available
5th April 2012 - 10th April 2012
Our Easter weekend will be led by Erica Dunmow with Ruth Hallam-Jones, who are both experienced in working alongside people from a wide range of traditions to create meaningful and enjoyable worship.
Together we will explore what the big themes of the Easter story mean for us now – from anger and loss to joyful new life and forgiveness - through creative writing (maybe a new Easter song for Othona?), crafts and games for young people and the young-at-heart (including the traditional egg painting and rolling). Much of these will be incorporated into our worship together, to help shape our celebrations of Easter.
Erica Dunmow lives in east Sheffield and has national and local roles encouraging Christians of all traditions to work together and with other people of goodwill of any faith or none. She learnt worship leading in East London in the 1980s (when she first came to Othona, Bradwell) through the Methodist Church and the radical St Hilda’s Community. She leads worship in settings as varied as social housing estates and community work conferences. She most enjoys helping people put together worship that makes real our faith, rooted in tradition and our experiences. Ruth Hallam-Jones also lives in Sheffield. She works professionally and in church settings with children, young people and families (of all shapes and sizes), and enjoys creating games and activities to explore ideas and have fun ! She currently worships as a Quaker, helping with the Children’s Meeting for Worship.
